As the weather gets colder and the nights get darker sooner, I can't help but pull out all my winter coats and turtleneck sweaters. And this season, I have a few favorite brands that I have been obsessing over. One of them being Club Monaco. As I get older, the more I am wanting less clothing but investment pieces that will last me longer.
As many creatives have mentioned, going on walks and getting fresh air is good to keep your brain and ideas flowing. I have been walking the same quarters for 4 years now. I pass by the same houses, same coffee shops and even know some of the street cars and whom they belong to. It has become my little path. But just because I pass the same spots daily, my mind views some of these little spots differently.
There are a lot of amazing designers out in the world. But I feel like there are few designers who who have a signature design edit and you can spot their articles of clothing from a mile away. Anytime I see an influencer on Instagram or a guest at a wedding with this signature edit, I say....now that is Self Portrait.
On September 29th, I had the honor of being present at the first ever creative and entrepreneurial conference for Mothers, In Good Company. When you walked into the room filled with over 300 women whom are entrepreneurs and mothers, you felt the energy. The energy that was filled with passion, love, instinct and a strength that you could only imagine.
One of the most popular questions I get asked about New York Fashion Week is...why do you attend? What do you get out of going to Fashion Week. And my answer is...how much time do you have for me to explain why I not only attend Fashion Week but why I love this week.
